February & March Newsletter -- Online Lessons
“Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation.” Mahatma Ghandi
Welcome to our February and March Newsletter!
Better late than never right?
It’s been a crazy couple of months, lots of new schedule changes, and with the recent epidemic of Covid-19, it just seems like everything is unstable. But, thanks to technology and the willingness of people, the learning will not stop here!
When life gives you lemons…
We’ve tried different video conferencing platforms, but Zoom seems to be the winner these past few weeks. I am able to chat, share my screen, draw on their whiteboard, and so much more. It almost seems like I am physically there with the student. I felt like the kids were easy to adapt to the change, and even grew some independence. You know what they always say, “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.” With that said, starting today March 31, 2020 online lessons will be available to anyone, anywhere — regardless of the quarantine situation! :)
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Student Spotlight of February is Addison. Addison is both a piano and voice student and is a very quick learner! Anything you throw at her, she can master. She has only been taking lessons for a few months, but can now accompany herself while singing. Addison has worked on “Rumour Has It” by Adele, “Hideaway” by Grace Vanderwaal, and “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. I can’t wait for her to perform for the next recital! I chose Addison because of many reasons, but my favorite has to be her humbleness and openness to learn more. You go, Addison!
Student Spotlight of March is Morgan! Morgan is also a piano and voice student. She is a beam of sunshine and it’s noticeable every time she walks in the studio. Morgan is only on her first piano method book, but is almost done! It is very apparent that she practices every day, her music theory and performance are top-notch. She has worked on “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s Moana, and even “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid. You’ll see some of her singing in my Instagram/Facebook page! Keep it up, Morgan! Way to go!
